The Enrichment Center, a full service
tutoring and enrichment company located in Westfield, is
pleased to offer intensive preparation classes for the SAT
II tests this spring. “These tests are subject specific,
and are similar to the former achievement tests,” stated
Mrs. Elaine Sigal, the owner and director of The Enrichment
Center. “We are offering 4-week, 8-hour classes for the SAT
II in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Writing, US History,
World History, Foreign Languages, and Math Ic and IIc. It
is important for students to take these subject tests at the
end of the school year in which they have taken the subject.
The Enrichment Center suggests that 9th and 10th
grade students take these tests in June of the year in which
they study Biology, Chemistry, or AP European History, or AP
American History. Many colleges require students to submit
scores for three of the SAT II tests in addition to their
SAT I test scores.
State certified and experienced teachers will
teach all of these courses. Each class is limited to eight
students to maximize the learning experience. The classes
will run for four Sundays: April 28, May 5, May 12 and May
19. The classes are each two hours long. The classes are
offered at various times during the day so call The
Enrichment Center for a brochure or find the information on
the web site:
www.theenrichmentcenter.net.
If the times or dates of the classes are not convenient for
you, a class can be created with a minimum of four
students. The Enrichment Center also can set up private
tutoring sessions. Please contact The Enrichment Center at
908-654-0110 to set up a class of your own.
The Enrichment Center also announces the
expansion of its SAT I classes. Recognizing that children
are unique in their needs and leaning styles, The Enrichment
Center responds with popular and effective SAT preparation.
Classes are offered Saturday through Thursday offering
maximum flexibility in scheduling. Individualized
instruction is guaranteed, as there are only 4-8 students in
each class. While most students benefit from instruction and
practice in both the math and verbal areas, some students
choose to concentrate on just verbal or math. Students pay
as they go so as not to burden parents financially. Private
tutoring is also available.
Flexibility in scheduling is crucial for
teenagers. Three-hour classes are difficult to squeeze into
a schedule filled with commitments to school,
extra-curricular activities, and jobs. The Enrichment
Center’s SAT I classes are one hour in length and are easily
scheduled to fit into busy lives.
Many students begin SAT preparation in tenth
grade with some beginning as early as seventh or as late as
twelfth grade. The on-going classes allow students to
determine how many weeks a session should be. Just as
practice improves skills in sports, music, and drama, The
Enrichment Center’s results show that students who practice
their techniques and strategies improve their scores.
